Privacy Policy


This Privacy Policy explains how RateAngel (“we,” “us,” “our,” or “RateAngel”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the RateAngel mobile application (the “App”) on iOS and Android devices.

We designed this Privacy Policy to be fully compliant with: Apple App Store Review Guidelines (especially Guideline 5.1 – Privacy) Google Play Developer Program Policies GDPR (EU/UK) CCPA/CPRA (California) COPPA and other applicable children’s privacy laws All other relevant privacy regulations as of December 2025.

By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the App.

1. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide Directly
Account information (if you create an account): email address, username, password, and profile details you choose to add. Content you submit: ratings, reviews, photos, comments, messages, or any other content you upload or generate in the App.Support communications: any information you provide when contacting customer support.
B. Information Collected Automatically
When you use the App, we (and our third-party analytics and service providers) may automatically collect:Device information: device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android), IP address, mobile network information, time zone, and language settings.Location data: precise or approximate location (only if you explicitly grant location permission).Usage data: features you use, pages/screens viewed, time spent, crash logs, diagnostic data, and interaction patterns.Advertising identifiers: only with your explicit consent via App Tracking Transparency (iOS) or Opt-in consent (Android).
C. Information from Third-Party IntegrationsRateAngel may integrate with third-party services (e.g., maps, payment processors, authentication providers). When you authorize these integrations, we receive only the minimum data necessary to provide the feature (for example, a tokenized payment method or a verified phone number).We never receive or store your full payment card details — payments are processed securely by Apple (App Store), Google Play, or PCI-DSS-compliant processors.

2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information only for the following legitimate purposes:To provide and operate the App and deliver its core featuresTo create and manage your accountTo personalize your experience. To send important notices (updates, security alerts, support messages)To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security risksTo generate anonymized, aggregated analytics to improve the App. To comply with legal obligationsWe do not use your data for any purpose not disclosed at the time of collection or in this Policy.

3. Legal Bases (for EU/UK/Switzerland users)Contract:

4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only share data in these limited circumstances:

5. Advertising & Analytics
We use only privacy-respecting analytics (no cross-app tracking without explicit consent).Personalized advertising is shown only if you grant tracking permission via Apple’s App Tracking Transparency or Android opt-in.You can disable personalized ads at any time in the App settings or device settings.

6. Your Rights & Choices

To exercise any right, go to Settings → Privacy → Manage My Data in the App or email privacy@rateangel.com. We will respond within the legally required timeframe (typically 30–45 days).

7. Data Retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary:Account data: until you delete your account + 30 daysTransaction records: as required by financial regulations (usually 7 years)Analytics data: anonymized after 26 months maximumCrash & diagnostic logs: 90 days.

Upon account deletion, we delete or irreversibly anonymize your personal data within 30 days (except where retention is legally required).

8. Security
We use industry-standard measures (TLS encryption, secure token storage, access controls, regular security audits) to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children’s Privacy
RateAngel is not intended for children under 16 (or the applicable age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we discover we have inadvertently collected such data, we will delete it immediately.

10. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. For users in the EU/UK/Switzerland, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and supplementary measures to ensure an adequate level of protection.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes inside the App or via email at least 7 days before they take effect (unless urgent security or legal reasons prevent this). Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
